THE COVE, NEWPORT BEACH’S NEWEST RETAIL TREASURE, OPENS AS HOME TO NINE UNIQUE BOUTIQUES

9 Entrepreneurial Women. 1 Hot Shopping Destination.

Newport Beach, CA -- A hip and newly re-purposed shopping destination on Newport Beach’s Mariner’s Mile, The Cove has just opened nine unique boutiques all headed by local entrepreneurial women. With fabulous collections, one-of-a-kind finds and a cool 60's retro vibe, The Cove is home to lifestyle and retail brands focused on women, children, home decor and fashion, including: Posey Couture, The Hat Loft, Little Relics, Blend, Clarity RX, MerMade Designs, Little Stylings, Laura Matthews Designs, and Studio Fringe.

Friends and acquaintances before opening The Cove, the collection of boutiques are all run by entrepreneurial women with their own niche focus providing shoppers with an eclectic and exciting one-stop-shopping experience. While many of the retail owners at The Cove have been in business for years, each was looking to expand their brand with a new creative and entrepreneurial challenge. They all came together to form The Cove, creating both a collective think tank for local enterprise as well as a laid-back, convenient shopping experience for customers, friends and family bringing them affordable, one-of-kind finds and other distinctive products.

The Cove redevelopment project was the brainchild of Russ Fluter of Cannery Village Realty. After sitting empty for 5 years, Russ bought the six small buildings with the hopes of reestablishing the area’s retail presence.

The Cove is located at 410 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach, CA 92663. Retail hours for individual boutiques vary (see below for individual store hours). Visit The Cove online and learn more about events, sales and new offerings at www.facebook.com/thecove

California Blooms Provides Beautiful Blooms for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund's (OCRF) Inaugural "Science Of Hope" Symposium

Why does scientific research take so long to show results?  Shouldn't ovarian cancer be cured by now?  What is being done to improve the outlook for women with ovarian cancer or at risk for ovarian cancer?
These are just a few of the thorny questions that were tackled by Dr. Michael Seiden, President & CEO of the Fox Chase Cancer Center at Ovarian Cancer Research Fund's inaugural "Science of Hope" Research Symposium on Saturday, November 13th in New York City and via live webcast.  OCRF was proud to present this very special day of discovery and awareness as an esteemed panel of scientists addressed current efforts to improve early detection and new and promising treatments for ovarian cancer while raising awareness and providing important information on services, clinical trials and other resources.  They were be joined by ovarian cancer survivors who eloquently shared their personal experience with the disease.

The mission of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is to provide funding to scientists in an effort to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer. In support of this, OCRF also helps patients and their families understand the disease and its treatment, and supports outreach programs to raise public awareness.

California Blooms is proud to be an official sponsor of OCRF and congratulates OCRF on their success with the symposium and all of their efforts!
